Introducing Lily; Green Bay Photographer

December 15, 2011

I always love meeting new little ones – especially when it means I get to see old friends.  I don’t know if this mom knows it, but I totally looked up to her in college.  She was a year older and she was the Queen of my then boyfriend’s fraternity and I always loved getting to hang out with her at their functions ;)   And now she has this amazingly beautiful baby!

I love all the cute hats my clients are bringing with them lately – seriously who could resist?!?!

The painting on the wall was done by her Aunt – it’s just amazing.  I want one.

iheartfaces – furry friends

December 12, 2011

I haven’t had time to put up entries for iheartfaces.com ‘s weekly challenges.  On one hand that makes me sad, because it’s fun to have someone else give me a focus to think about for a few days, on the other hand it’s great because it means clients have been keeping me busy :)   Not going to complain about that!

This furry friend is such a sweetheart.  She came along on a recent photo shoot and at times had a hard time staying awake for all the family photos ;)   The beautiful girl with her spent the entire shoot doting on her pup and it was so cute to see her just love her pup.  She even thought to bring a plastic bag along to the park!  Such a good young dog owner :)   Oh and did I mention this dog’s name is Sunshine?!!  Doesn’t she just make you want to curl up with her in some sunshine and sleep the afternoon away?!

Head on over to iheartfaces.com to see more furry friends entries :)

Kendal & Steve – Part II; Green Bay Area Wedding Photographer

December 10, 2011

If you are just joining us now – check out Kendal & Steve, Part I – here

Every wedding that I do, I hope and pray for a groomsmen that helps to make my job much easier.  This wedding had, hands-down, one of the best groomsmen/photographers assistant.  Here he is below – he kept everyone smiling naturally and laughing.  I tried to hire him to come to every wedding with me after this one, sadly I was turned down.

Hello Stunning.

A whole lot of time and effort went into personalizing all the details of this wedding.  I just love that everything really emphasized the idea of their wedding day being a celebration – these two definitely have the right idea. (love the sayings on the back of the programs)

And waiting to greet them after the ceremony…

I love this next set of images.  Would it be weird if I had a wall of these in my house?  They just make me happy.

And I’ll leave you with this image… a small look into the fun that was about to start at the reception!

I had so much fun with this family!  It’s always refreshing to spend time with families that are close and really enjoy being together :)   (And if you want to see them all get into a little jumping just scroll down to the previous post before this one!)

Kendal & Steve – Part 1; Green Bay Area Wedding Photographer

December 5, 2011

The night before this wedding, I had a dream that I was at the wedding and Kendal was in an sleeve-less dress with lace details.  So fun to see her dress that day!  I’m going to chalk it up to knowing your bride well.  I’m just that good ;) (or seriously lucky – more probable).  In any case, Kendal & Steve’s day was just perfect.  All the many special hand-made details, all the wonderful people, sharing in the day.  It was simply magical and I’m so lucky to have been a part of the day.

Much more to come!!  I’d hold out for the reception – these two hosted quite the dance party :)

Christmas in Green Bay!

December 2, 2011

I have a lot of client blog posts coming soon over the next few days, but wanted to take a few minutes to share some of Maura’s Christmas experience so far in our new house :)   She absolutely loves it.  We picked out our tree last weekend and then let her decorate the whole part of the tree she can reach (which is proving to make it difficult to explain to her why she can’t take the ornaments off and play with them constantly…)

Don’t know why exactly, but I love this one.

Our tree!

“Hey Mommy, take my picture with Brennan!”

And then later that same week, Grandma and Grandpa came to bake “gingermen” with her and guess who they surprised her with?

Yep – they brought Brennan.  I have never seen her so excited before – Grandma, Grandpa, and Brennan.  For all she knows that was her Christmas ;)

They spent the afternoon cutting out cookies, eating cookies, decorating cookies, and of course another round of eating the decorations.  A few small breaks for important things like painting, puzzles, and reading the first day of the Jessie Tree that Grandma brought.  It was a great day.  I know that even if Maura doesn’t remember this day specifically there will always be a fuzzy, warm feeling in her heart for decorating cookies with Grandma that started with today.

I think the biggest competition between these two is who can love Grandma more.  Not such a bad time to be my mom.

Coming from a larger immediate family, I know how hard it is to not only get everyone in the same city, much less the same room (and then getting everyone to agree to be in a picture is sometimes  a lot to ask).  I was glad I was able to take these family photos for a good friend and her family, especially since there was only about an hour in the weekend where all our schedules matched :)   But we made it work and ended up with some really great shots.

I just love these next two :)

Had the chance to re-connect with friends from college and meet their kids yesterday!  Many more to come…

I love how fuzzy and warm this next photo is (even though it was very chilly ;) Yellow Labs have a way of making everything look snuggly)
