We finally made our Jack into a lantern! Green Bay Area Photographer

November 10, 2011

Maura has had a love affair with pumpkins this fall.  It all started with a small family of pumpkins that she played with at her friend Lauren’s house.  They carried them from the front to the back to the front, up into the playhouse, they fed them lunch and then for the next two days all she talked about was “buying a mommy pumpkin, a daddy pumpkin, 2 kid pumpkins, a doggy pumpkin, and a kitty pumpkin.”  So when we got a pumpkin to carve (and more importantly to roast the seeds of) Maura was very upset.  Naturally she did not want to slice open members of her precious pumpkin family.  I was happily surprised when late last week she decided it would be a great idea to carve the pumpkin!!!  So what if we were nearly a whole week late for Halloween, I was going to get my pumpkin seeds!  And they were delicious 🙂

I can’t get over how old she looks in this photo – regular big kid.

And in the middle we went to the zoo and saw some seriously friendly giraffes.  I love that you can go up and see them at the Green Bay New Zoo – for free!!  Such a great place for kids.
